We don’t recommend swapping Genie rollers yourself, and it’s not because the roller is dangerous on its own. It’s because the bottom roller brackets are under tension from the lift cables. On a torsion-spring door, removing the bottom roller without controlling the cable pressure can cause the cable to release, and that’s when the door abruptly shifts in the track.
